Terms of Service
Last updated 4 October 2026
These terms govern your use of PaidFiles. By creating a shop, uploading a file, or buying one, you agree to them.
The agreement
PaidFiles is a service that lets sellers upload files, share a link, and take payment by M-Pesa. We handle the plumbing: storage, the link, and the payment prompt. We are not a party to whatever it is you are selling.
We may update these terms. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect.
What you may sell
You may not upload content that is:
- Not yours. Pirated material, cracked software, leaked credentials, coursework bought from essay mills, or anything you copied without the right to.
- Illegal in Kenya. This includes material relating to child abuse, and content that breaches the Computer Misuse and Cybercrimes Act.
- Deceptive. Malware, or content that promises something and delivers something else.
- Someone else’s private information. Do not publish other people’s documents, ID, or contact details.
We may remove content or suspend shops that breach this. Suspension stops new payments immediately; the shop owner is told why and can appeal.
Payments and fees
- You need your own M-Pesa. Payments go straight from the buyer to the number you entered as the seller. They are not routed through a platform wallet.
- Safaricom holds the funds, not us. If a payment is unsuccessful, cancelled, or reversed, no money is retained and nothing is owed to you.
- Storage is what you pay for. Our Pro plan buys storage, not bandwidth or traffic. Selling more files on a fixed storage quota is entirely normal.
- You are responsible for your own taxes on what you earn. We provide a payout ledger in your dashboard as a record.
Refunds
Payments are made directly to the seller through M-Pesa, so we cannot reverse one for you. If something went wrong, ask the seller directly first. We will help you reconcile the payment using the receipt code and your phone number.
Where a payment settled but the file could not be delivered, contact us at support@sisonke.website with your receipt code. We keep payment records specifically so these cases can be investigated.
File expiry
Files expire. A free-plan file lives for a limited window; a Pro file lives until the plan ends. Sellers can extend a file while their plan is active. After expiry the download link stops working, because keeping expired content alive indefinitely is not what the storage is paid for.
Acceptable use
- Do not attempt to access another seller’s dashboard or files.
- Do not scrape buyer phone numbers, or attempt to collect them.
- Do not automate the purchase flow, or send unsolicited payment prompts.
- Do not attempt to bypass rate limits, bot checks, or any other security control.
We rate limit and use bot protection on payment and recovery specifically to protect buyers from spam. Circumventing these puts a stranger’s phone at risk.
Availability
We aim for the service to be always on, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. We may change or discontinue features. We may suspend an account that breaches these terms or that we reasonably believe puts buyers or the platform at risk.
Your content stays yours
You keep all rights to what you upload. You grant us only the limited permission needed to host it, stream it to the buyer who paid, and take it down when you delete it or it expires. We never claim ownership and we do not license your content to anyone else.
Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and delete your shop at any time. If you break these terms, we may suspend or remove the account. In either case your payment records are retained for tax and dispute purposes, because we are not permitted to erase them.
Liability
The service is provided “as is”. To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including lost profits, arising from your use of the service. Nothing here limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, including for fraud.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Kenya, and the courts of Kenya have jurisdiction over any dispute.
Report a problem
If you think content breaks these terms, or you have been overcharged, use the report link on the file page or email support@sisonke.website. Reports are read by a person.
